PWC, Embankment Place, London

18m long x 12m wide x 40m high atriums fully scaffolded for access to all faces and roof. Extremely strict loadings allowed on the existing structure due to its suspended nature, the building is actually suspended over Charing Cross Station. Aluminium was adopted for parts of the scaffold with bridge beams at various levels to distribute the loads from the scaffold across the existing structure. Close liaison with the site team and building engineers was required to find an acceptable solution incorporating innovative methods to distribute and transfer loads to permanent works.
